About the role Accommodation Services is dedicated to supporting all aspects of customer service, student engagement and development. Through a range of programs which focus on academic preparedness and achievement, social engagement, personal responsibility, and health and wellbeing, we strive to provide students with a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where they can make new friends, engage in new experiences, and cultivate beneficial life skills. Reporting to the Manager, Residential Education and the Manager, Regional Operations, your responsibilities will include:
  • Acting as the central point of contact for resident enquiries and address all issues that arise, taking the appropriate actions to inform, rectify and escalate where required
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of contracted vendors, coordinating the provision of effective and efficient facility management and grounds related services for the Albury/Wodonga properties of La Trobe and Wodonga TAFE
  • Supervise and monitor the daily performance of contracted cleaning staff, ensuring compliance of work plans and quality standards
  • In conjunction with I/O Facilities Management staff receive, prioritise and initiate all ad-hoc and emergency cleaning or maintenance request
  • Consult with the Manager, Residential Education to ensure student experience offerings are consistent across all campuses
  • Follow up on debt and liaise with departments regarding payment plans for student debtors
  • Review existing service provisions, entitlements, trends and rules to provide advice and identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Identify risks and hazards associated with facility management activities and implement preventative actions to mitigate any risk to residential students
  • Engage in regular collaboration, communication and updates with Albury Wodonga Student Leaders
  • Monitor and maintain records/reports
Skills & Experience To be successful you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing effectively and empathically with young adults, building strong social interaction with others of different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, and be accepting of diversity and individual differences
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain discipline and good order and a demonstrated understanding of the personal development requirements of students
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, including the ability to develop excellent working relationships with colleagues, students and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of a complex set of rules, activities or procedures to particular cases
  • Sound computing skills, with experience in the use of Word, Excel, and information management systems
